However, if you plan to hire employees or have customers visiting your home at all hours of the day, it may be a problem.

You can do this by checking out local ads or joining a local group specifically for those who own their own businesses. Networking is an important aspect of any job. A home based business is no exception. The more people that you know that are running their own businesses, the more input you can get when starting your own.

But what if the zoning laws prohibit the business that you want to use to make money online? There are things that can be done to try to get your county to alter the codes. For instance, if your proposed change does not affect the neighborhood directly or is out of date, you can petition for the change all on your own. However, if it is a bigger change, it can be helpful to pass around a petition among your neighbors and other owners of home businesses to try to influence the local government that a change is wanted by more than just you.

Zoning laws are put into place by local governments to try to keep a sense of peace to residential neighborhoods. They are not meant to completely prohibit you from opening a business to make money online but they can sometimes get in the way. It is important to understand these laws and know what you can and cannot do in order to ensure that you will be able to keep your business going for as long as you want.
